Visa restriction

The Embassy has suspended the issuance of short-stay and long-stay visas on the basis of restrictions on non-essential travel, and in order to prevent recurrences and the spread of the infectious disease COVID-19. Visas shall be issued only in certain cases for purposes deemed necessary by the competent authorities.

According to the restriction on non-essential travel, the following categories of foreign nationals can currently apply for a long-stay visa:

• diplomats and administrative and technical staff and their family members coming to Slovenia to perform their mandate,
• participants in study exchanges (eg Erasmus, Erasmus +, exchanges based on bilateral agreements between universities),
• immediate family members of a citizen of the Republic of Slovenia / EU for the purpose of family reunification,
• businessmen, athletes, cultural figures, researchers and scientists, with an expressed and substantiated national interest prepared by the competent ministry for each specific case.

Residence permits
In accordance with the restrictions on consular operations aimed at preventing recurrences and the spread of the infectious disease COVID-19, the Embassy accepts applications for temporary residence permits and performs other procedural actions related to obtaining a residence permit only by prior appointment.

Ordering an appointment
Customers must pre-book an appointment. They can do this via the email address consular.tirana(at)gov.si.

Payment of consular fees
Consular fees can be paid in person at the Embassy.

Thursday: 10:00 - 12:00

IMPORTANT: To schedule a meeting at the consular department, please send an email to consular.tirana(at)gov.si.

Official working hours of the Embassy: Monday – Friday: 10:00 - 16:00.

In 2020 Embassy is closed on some of the Slovenian and Albanian national holidays.
